Origen: Normando. Clifford es uno de los nombres que fue traído a Inglaterra luego de la migración que seguió a la conquista normanda de 1066. La familia Clifford vivió en una de las tantas Parishes ó parroquias que tenían por nombre Clifford en Hereford, Gloucestershire y Bristol. Clifford is one of the names that was brought to England in the wave of migration following the Norman Conquest of 1066. The Clifford family lived in one of the many parishes by the name of Clifford in Hereford, Gloucestershire and Bristol. First found in Nottingham where they were seated from very early times and were granted lands by Duke William of Normandy, their liege Lord, for their distinguished assistance at the Battle of Hastings in 1066 A.D.
