Orígen: Normando. Cock fue derivado del nombre dado a una persona con una tez atractiva ó rosada, ó bien de pelo rojo. Proviene la la palabra Gaélica Coch, que significa rojo. The ancient name Cocke was first derived when the name was given to a person with a rosy complexion or red hair. Interestingly, the name Cocke was originally from the Welsh word coch, which means red. First found in Cornwall where they were seated from very ancient times, some say well before the Norman Conquest and the arrival of Duke William at Hastings in 1066 A.D.
