The Irish names Conley and Connolly are derived from a number of different native Gaelic Septs. The O'Conghaile Sept was based in Connaught Province and in County Monaghan. The O'Congheallaigh Sept was located in the Province of Munster. Connelly is a County Galway variant where it and Connolly are both still quite widespread.
