Driscoll / O´Driscoll
The Irish name O'Driscoll or Driscoll is derived from the native Gaelic O'hEidersceoil Sept, taken from a Gaelic word meaning 'intermediary'. Descendants bearing this name can still be mostly found in the ancestral homeland of County Cork and surrounding Counties. O'Driscoll is much more prevalent than Driscoll.
Origen: Irlandés. Before Irish names were translated into English, Driscoll had a Gaelic form of O hEidersceoil, from the word eidirsceol, which means an intermediary. First found in county Cork, where they held a family seat from very ancient times.
Variantes: Driscoll, O'Driscoll y otros.
