O'Donoghue / O´Donohoe / Donohue

The tribal origins of the O'Donoghue name, Ó Donnchadha in Gaelic, are in Kerry/Cork, Tipperary, Galway, Kilkenny (now as Dunphy) and Cavan to the greatest extent, with other ancient tribes recognised in Wicklow/Dublin, Meath and Mayo/Sligo.  Migration has also created a large community in Clare.  Today there are about 300 name variants throughout the world.  The O'Donoghue of the Glens is one of the few recognised hereditary chieftains in Ireland today.

Armas: en campo de sinople, dos zorros rampantes contrarampantes, de plata, y en el jefe, de plata, un águila volando, de sable. Cimera: un brazo armado empuñando una espada a cuya hoja está enroscada una serpiente, de su color.

Según O´Hart integraron el grupo de familias dsecendientes de Heber, y descienden de Cas, hijo de Corc, que es el Nº 89 esa línea de los descendientes de Milesius.
