Lane

The name Lane in Ireland was adopted by a number of native Gaelic Septs as the anglicized form of their name. These include the O'Laighin and O'Liathain Septs of Counties Galway and Cork. The name was also brought to the country by settlers especially during the seventeenth century.


Origen: Irlandés, Normando. Primero encontrado en Co. Roscommon, en el 17mo siglo. Derivado del gaélico Ó Dubhshláine, comprimido de "Dubh" y "Slán", que significa "negro" y "desafío", respectivamente.

Variantes: Lane, Laney, Lain, Lainey otros.
