Manning / Mannion

The name Manning in Ireland is derived from either Anglo settlers who arrived into the country in the seventeenth century or as a variant of the name Mannin which is an anglicized form of the native Gaelic Sept name O'Mainnin. This Sept was based in County Galway and it is here that the majority of descendants can still be found.
