The name Parker in Ireland is usually of immigrant origin having been brought to the country by settlers in the seventeenth century, especially into the Province of Ulster. The name is also on record since mediaeval times, derived from the French name 'Parquier' which translates as 'park-keeper'. The Gaelic form is 'Pairceir'.
