Slattery

The name Slattery in Ireland is derived from the native Gaelic O'Slatara Sept, taken from the word 'slatra' meaning 'strong'. The Sept was based in Ballyslattery in County Clare and it is here, and in the neighbouring Counties that the majority of descendants can still be found.
